2023 is set to be a career-defining year for Birmingham-born star Stefflon Don. The genre-traversing musician is set to release her highly anticipated debut album, Island 54, seven years after her breakout mixtape Real Ting. In HUNGER’s latest issue, Don gives us the low-down on the project, explaining why she’s finally ready to share it with the world and why it’ll be her most meaningful work to date.

“Expect more meaningful stuff because, as a person, I’m very big on important messages and reality,” says the artist. “I don’t feel like that comes across in my music because I focus on having the greatest time and twerking. So, yes, we have the fun element, and we also have another element where we get a little bit serious.”
